The United Kingdom is the fifth biggest economy in the world and the second biggest in the European Union, according to the World Bank. The country was the fourth world importer of goods (the second in Europe) and the sixth in terms of services (the fourth in Europe) in 2016. It also stands out as the second world exporter of services (the first in Europe) and the tenth of goods (the fifth in Europe).

The British population is about 65 million, of which approximately 84% live in England, 8% in Scotland, 5% in Wales and 3% in Northern Ireland. About 19% of the population is under 15 years old, 64% is between 16-64 years old and 18% is over 64 years old.
